Don't Lose Your Mojo - - Stay Happy
One of my best friends R celebrates his birthday today.
Yes, age is just a number as Dara Torres' book reminds us. There's something about R that make you think about authenticity and happiness. His co-worker told me how R was introduced to a new consultant visiting their office.
R, if you don't know him can be really disarming and super super funny because he is one of those people who speaks freely and in an "unfiltered" manner.
R spots the consultant mid-sentence in a serious office query and R goes, "do you work out?"
The consultant turned red.
Everyone else started laughing out loud.

It's always good to be natural and free flowing.
R is the best in that respect.

I always ask R about his secret to happiness. Of course, he's not shy to speak about this. It's not akin to danish happiness theory of low expectation. He doesn't have low expectation of himself and others. It is just his mindset, he is happy (period).

Bistronomification of Photography

I was up at 3 a.m. watching Anthony Bourdain in Paris and then ConAir and oldie but goodie movie (for me). Yes, my standards are low low low and I am a sucker for stupid Steve Buscemi movies.
"He's got the whole world in his hands..."
Back to Anthony Bourdain in Paris. The episode dealt with Michelin starred chef Eric Ripert discussing the new french fine dining movement moving to the less stuffy and more accessible to everyone.
Bistronomics is the term coined for more creative and personal style of cooking. Rather than ascribing to traditional french perfection, proponents of bistronomics subscribe to more personal risk taking in flavor combinations, textures but keep everything simple.
That was my take.

In photography, not anyone who has a camera can be considered a photographer. However, photographer and German artist Erwin Wurm put things in perspective a so-called Bistronomification of photography message.
"Who would say that your photo or instant art is not art?"
This may be my personal interpretation but the context was his instant art display where he asked people to interact and be the art installation themselves.
While I've been tardy in featuring photographers lately, hope to keep at it.
Focusing on self-taught photographers in the next few months but will also ask pros.
